Privacy statement

How this site handles your information.

Effective August 29, 2026

Who this covers

This statement describes how Bessol Partners ("Bessol", "we", "us") handles information collected through this website. It applies to this site only. It does not cover information you give us outside the site, or the practices of any third party we link to.

Information we collect

We do not operate contact forms, user accounts, newsletters, or commerce on this site. The personally identifiable information we collect falls into two categories.

Server and analytics data

Squarespace, our website host, records standard web log and analytics information when you visit: internet protocol address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. Squarespace sets cookies for this purpose, including ss_cid, ss_cpvisit, ss_cvr, ss_cvt and ss_cvisit for analytics, and Crumb and _ssid for security and fraud prevention.

Information you send us

If you write to an email address listed on this site, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account information, government identifiers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or any category of sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

Who we share it with

  • Squarespace Inc., our website host and analytics provider, which processes the data described above on our behalf under its own privacy policy.
  • Our email provider, which transmits and stores messages you send to the addresses listed on this site.
  • Law enforcement or other parties where required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not run advertising networks, retargeting pixels, or data broker integrations on this site.

How we use it

To operate and secure the site, to understand aggregate traffic patterns, and to respond to you if you contact us. We do not build profiles from it and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Tracking across other sites

We do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites through this site.

Do Not Track signals

There is no common industry standard for how a website should respond to a browser Do Not Track signal, and we do not currently respond to one. As described above, we do not track you across third-party websites, so the signal has no practical effect on what we do. If a uniform standard is adopted we will revisit this and update this statement.

Reviewing and changing your information

You may ask what personally identifiable information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to chris@bessolpartners.com and we will respond within 45 days. We may ask you for information sufficient to verify that the request is yours, and we will use anything you send for that purpose only.

Your California privacy rights

Bessol does not currently meet the thresholds that make a business subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act. We extend the following rights voluntarily and will honor them as though the act applied to us.

  • The right to know what personal information we have collected, where it came from, why we collected it, and which categories of third parties received it.
  • The right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to any legal retention obligation.
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
  • The right not to be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these, write to chris@bessolpartners.com. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written proof of authorization.

Children

This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to chris@bessolpartners.com and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

Analytics data persists for the cookie durations described above, up to two years. Email correspondence is kept for as long as it remains relevant to our relationship with you, and is then deleted.

Links to other sites

This site may link to sites we do not control. This statement does not apply to them. Read their policies before giving them information.

Changes to this statement

We may update this statement. When we do, we will change the effective date above and post the revised statement on this page. If a change is material, we will post a notice on this page for 30 days before it takes effect.
